A SpecMap license is required for each user who requires access to SpecMap.
There are a 2 licensing models available for SpecMap:
- Licenses acquired from the Visual Studio marketplace
- License keys acquired directly from TechTalk, including free licenses
Licenses use a subscription model. License fees are listed in the table below, and are per tier and per month.
Free licenses allow up to 3 users to use SpecMap. If you are an Azure subscriber, you can use the marketplace to license up to 3 users for free. If you do not have a subscription, you can request a license key here. You can find details on registering your license key here.
SpecMap is available from the Visual Studio marketplace. The marketplace is the recommended platform for purchasing SpecMap licenses in most cases.
Licenses purchased from the marketplace require VSTS/TFS 2017. When using TFS, the TFS server must be online and able to connect to the marketplace.
Once you have completed a purchase via the marketplace, you need to assign your users to the SpecMap extension in TFS/VSTS so that they can access SpecMap. You therefore only require as many licenses as you have SpecMap users.
Purchasing a License Key from TechTalk
If you are using TFS 2015, or your TFS server is offline, you will not be able to use licenses purchased from the Visual Studio marketplace. In this case, you will require a license key that you can register within SpecMap.
To purchase a license key, please send an email to support [at] specmap.cc including the number of licenses you are interested in. You will require a license for each SpecMap user.
Details on how to register your license key can be found here.
